Don't Get Tired Of Doing The Right Thing

Dont Get Tired Of Doing The Right Thing

The Apostle Paul started the church of Galatia, but left to plant other churches in Asia Minor. After hearing that the Galatian Church had fallen into some hard times, he wanted to correct some doctrinal errors that had crept in and challenge the church to refocus on unity in Jesus. He said:

"And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up." (The Living Bible)

Here's Eugene Peterson's paraphrase: "So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith." (The Message)

The King James Bible says it like this: "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Tired is when you're physically exhausted. Weary is when your soul is tired. There are different strategies to recharge from physical exhaustion and soul exhaustion.

Sleep, relaxation, eating better & quiet help you recharge when you are physically tired.

Prayer, Bible study and being in community with other believers helps you recharge when your soul is tired.
