Argo won best picture, Daniel Day Lewis won Best Actor & Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress. Brave won best animated movie.
I think about all the elements that go together to make great movies, and for me it all goes back to the story. Because we can all relate to the conflict that a character faces in life. It’s reflective to us.
Donald Miller is the guy who wrote Blue Like Jazz and over the weekend I heard him say:
"A great story is a character that wants something and overcomes conflict to get it. Great stories have two components: The lead character saves many lives and they are transformed in the process. God is more interested in the outcome of the story than the drama it too to get there. The only way a character can be transformed in a story is through conflict. There is no other way.”
It’s like Neurologist & Psychiatrist Viktor Frankel said:
"In some ways, suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning."
I think that’s some great food for thought in our faith journey!
