Marc From Downhere Performs on American Idol

Everyone told Marc Martel from Downhere that he sounded like Freddie Mercury from Queen. When the remaining members of Queen decided to do a new world tour, they held a competition for a new vocalist. Fans encouraged Marc to try out, and he thought, "Well, let's see if the members of Queen think I sound like Freddie!"

He WON the competition. It worked out because a couple of band members in Downhere were having babies this year, so they were already planning to take some time off. He's not leaving the band.

Here is Marc's performance on American Idol. The Queen Extravaganza (featuring Marc Martel) will play House of Blues in Vegas on Saturday 6/23.
