THE AFTERS-EVERY GOOD THING
Last week at Passion Conference I heard Francis Chan talk about how the older he grows, the less he trusts people. The more he’s reminded about the evil in the world. But he said, "The longer I walk with God, the more I trust the words in the Bible. They are life changing. If you want to get to know God better, make disciples."
"Why is it that we believe his promise of blessing, but we don't take seriously his promise of punishment. It's not an empty threat. It's holiness. Your actions don't change God or his character. God can't deny himself. He is faithful. He is love."
Look at the book of Hosea. He told the prophet Hosea to marry a prostitute so Israel would know what it's like to be married to her. We reject God and do our own thing and pursue our own selfishness, but God just continues to pursue us, hoping we’ll come back.
God leaves lots of warnings for us in his Word. They are there because he loves us. Don't let your selfishness push you away from God. He's still pursuing you because he loves you.
