GLOW IN THE DARK BY JASON GRAY
A professor of Science at Westmont College named Peter Stoner went through the old testament in the Bible to calculate the probability that one man could fulfill just 8 of the major prophecies about the coming messiah that the Israelites were expecting.
He had 12 different classes working on the project. Over 600 students carefully weighed all the factors as well. They even submitted their figures for review to a committee of the American Scientific Affiliation. After ripping through all Professor Stoner’s research, they verified that his calculations were dependable and accurate and scientific.
So this research project concluded the fulfillment of these eight prophecies alone proved that God inspired the writing of the prophecies– the likelihood that any man in history could fulfill 8 of these prophecies by mere chance is only one in 10 to the 17th! (That’s a lot of zeros)
By the way there are about 456 prophecies in the Old Testament about who the Messiah would be, written 700-800 years before Jesus was ever born, and he fulfilled EVERY ONE OF THEM. (You can read through a bunch of them in Isaiah 53 if you want to see a few of the things that were foretold about Jesus before he was born) It’s amazing! This is what Christmas is all about!
