Try...to not....FREAK....OUT!!

Try...to not....FREAK....OUT!! | Mike Couchman SOS Radio | SOS Radio

This may sound oxymoronic to you (if that's even a word), but I am a political junkie who is disgusted by our nation's current politics.

To put it another way: the art and power of politics has always fascinated me. I believe the political process, when used properly...with dignity, honor, respect for your opponent, honesty, etc., can actually be a very good thing. I was once so taken with politics that I majored in Political Science as a college student in Michigan. I interned for a state senator. And that's when the disillusionment started.

Maybe you're there too. Doesn't matter if you're conservative, progressive, independent, codependent, lactose intolerant, etc. One thing many Americans agree on is that our nation doesn't seem to be heading in a good direction.

Come November, when we elect a new president or keep our current one, that "wrong direction" vibe will feel amplified by the losing side.

It doesn't have to turn out that way though. If you place your faith in Christ, it's important to remember that He will use anyone to further his kingdom. Talking donkeys, brutal dictators, and traitors (just to name a few).

I found these words by the writer Max Lucado very comforting in light of this coming fall's divisive campaign season: "Let us be people who vote...but let us never think that God will be baffled by a November 6 outcome. God is not troubled by one who is conservative or liberal and He certainly never inclines His ear toward a donkey or an elephant. We place our trust in the work of God. He is above them all."
