THE WAY BY JEREMY CAMP
I am assuming that YOU already know how awesome Christian music can be, right? That's why most people tell us they listen to SOS Radio.
Looks like a lot of other people are finally figuring out what you have known for awhile now. None other than Time Magazine couldn't help but notice the power of Godly music this week!
King Solomon says, "To everything there is a season. There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven."
It breaks my heart to hear about all the U.S. Embassy attacks this week. A man said he planted bombs on the University of Texas campus too.
As an Adoptive Parent I'm always looking for ways to better connect with my kids. I came across this blog
"Diary of a Not-So-Angry Asian Adoptee". Christina has a great perspective on what it's like to be a child that's adopted. Here is her list of 10 things adoptive parents should know..
For those times when life "pushes back" at you, I thought I'd share a few things I have found helpful during my devotion times this week. This is a completely random list of positive thoughts, quotes, and verses.
"ALL THINGS work together for our good! " (Romans 8:28)
“There are accidental parents, but there are no accidental children. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did.” (Rick Warren)
"I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Psalm 16:8)
When we listen more than we talk, life changes for us.
"He who listens to a life giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor."
I heard a talk from Craig Groeschel recently talking about the way we Christians view debt. It was a little scary. I jotted down a few of the stats he shared:
75% of Christian live paycheck to paycheck.
The average American has 16.7 credit/debit/store cards
The average consumer debt for 28 year olds is $66,000
62% of Americans don’t pay off their credit card bills each month
Las year the average American saved 2.2% of their income.
Proverbs 29:18 says, "Without vision, the people perish."
In Lysa Terkheurst’s new book, Unglued she says there are four kinds of reaction types:
- Exploders that Blame Others
- Exploders that Shame Themselves
- Stuffers that Build Barriers
- Stuffers that Collect Retaliation Rocks
I’m wondering which of those resonates with you most?
Here's a quick assessment she developed to you can identify how you react. You might not even realize it from the inside! Share your findings below!
