Kid Feeds Homeless Man

Encouragement in Tough Times | | SOS Radio

October has been a tough month for my family. We said goodbye to a Foster Son that we had for a year. It's been devistating to our family. We've been recovering and holding on to the promise that God has a Good plan for our lives. I want to share something that a friend sent me... it's helped refocus me on God's purpose and plan through this rough patch.

First, there is a God and we are not Him.  His plans for us are always and forever for our good and His ultimate glory.

Making Memories

Making Memories | | SOS Radio
I've challenged myself this summer to make memories with my family. I want them to have experiences they look back on and remember fondly.

This past weekend, my sons Jeremy and Corey got to do something really cool... run the bases at Angels Stadium. They couldn't stop smiling after crossing home plate.

Every day I put together a prep sheet before I go on the air. This past Monday was a very difficult day to be on the air. God directed me to some pretty encouraging stuff that helped me process what had happened.

25 Random Things About J.D. | Get To Know J.D. | SOS Radio

Scott made me laugh with his "25 Random Things About The Morning Show". So I though I'd give it a shot.

Greater love has no one than this...

While watching this video, John 15:13 kept coming to mind... "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

The Wave...

The Wave...

I made the trip to Oregon this past weekend to take my little sister to her first Ducks football game. We had a blast even though it was 46 and pouring. About half way through the 3rd quarter a young man decided he want to try and start the wave in the stadium.

One person out of 60,000… the odds aren’t in his favor. I watched him for about 45 minutes try to pump up the crowd, but each time the wave would die about two sections over. He was determined. After trying 25 times and failing each time… He tried again, with the same enthusiasm as the 1st try.

November is National Adoption Month... This month I'd like to share several different camera angles on Adoption and Foster Care.  A good friend to our family is serving on the front lines when it comes to Foster Care and Adoption in Las Vegas. RoseAnna shared this blog post and I love how it ties all of us to adoption... because we have a personal relationship with God.

Foster Care and Adoption have played a huge roll in building my family. My wife Vanessa and I have adopted 4 kids and are currently Foster Parents to 3 kids. November is National Adoption Month and I wanted to share some information if you're interested in pursuing Foster Care or Adoption.

It's a beautiful life we live! | | SOS Radio

"Don't wanna forget or take for granted... That it's a beautiful life we live"

The Afters – Every Good Thing

That’s the first lyric I heard after our newborn decided to pee on me while changing his diaper. I was SOOOOOOOO frustrated.  I was in the beginning stages of planning my pity party when I heard "Don't wanna forget or take for granted... That it's a beautiful life we live".

All of a sudden I went from frustration to being thankful.

Yes, I had just been peed on my a two week old little boy… But I was able to hold that little boy and love on him.
