STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN-LOVE TAKE ME OVER
If you want to engage culture and connect, you generally want to be relevant. But when do you feel it can go too far?
One listener named Jeff called in after our movie review for Joyful Noise this morning and had a few thoughts & challenges in regard to language and relationships. He works in Hollywood where he produces movies & TV and wanted to start a discussion.
Kim emailed in asking how to explain to her husband that going to a so called "gentlemen's club" is bad for their marriage. Listeners called in with advice and encouragement. This was really interesting.

So does God really care about who wins a football game? I always thought God was more of a baseball fan!
Tim Tebow and John 3:16 were the most Googled topics on the web after the Broncos overtime win Sunday. They were also the most popular topics on Twitter and Facebook. Newspapers and magazines have been pointing out all sorts of crazy connections.

January 14-16 – Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
I spent the end of last week in Atlanta at Passion 2012 and the coolest moment for me was standing next to Matt Maher as they were closing out the night on Wednesday.
Matt Maher wrote all the music for Passion 2012 with Chris Tomlin & Jason Ingram. They spend 2 weeks at Chris Tomlin's house writing back in April, and then they came back in November and finished them up. As I looked out over the Georgia Dome at 45,000 college students singing and yelling with their hands in the air, I looked over and Matt Marr was standing next to me.
He was yelling out the words he wrote and pointing his finger up in the air singing, “ We raise our white flag, we surrender all to you…. It’s all for you…… we raise our white flag, the war over…. love has come…. your love has won!”
Very interesting article from Kara Powell from Fuller Youth Institute talking about why so many students don’t stick with their Christian faith after high school. (This was on Relevantmagazine.com)
She says there’s a sociologist names Tim Clydesdale— who says after students graduate from high school. They place important parts of themselves in an "identity lock-box," and their faith is often part of that.
Here's a video of modern day Bethlehem. It's actually part of Palestine now and it's heavily armed with checkpoints and strict laws. Bethlehem is in the central West Bank and about 5 miles south of Jerusalem. About 30,000 people live there today. Relevant Magazine did an article about what Jesus would face if he was born into Bethlehem today. It's really interesting- check it out here.

Shout out to my hood! Henderson, Nevada was ranked "the second safest City in America" by Forbes Magazine!
The only city to beat Henderson was Plano, Texas. (A suburb of Dallas) The ratings were based on factors like the violent crime rate, FBI stats and traffic deaths. Here's a link to the whole article.
