MIGHTY TO SAVE BY LAURA STORY
The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is in need of volunteers to be Educational Surrogate Parents to help foster children with special education needs in the Clark County School District (CCSD). Without Educational Surrogate Parents to advocate for these children, their needs often get lost, misrepresented or unnoticed by CCSD.
No experience is necessary to become an Educational Surrogate Parent. The Legal Aid Center staff provides training and support. The time and effort it takes to be an Educational Surrogate Parent is minimal – approximately 20 hours a year – but the benefits for foster children with disabilities is endless.
