THE AFTERS-LIGHT UP THE SKY
The 2013 Mayors Prayer Breakfast, a community-building event, encourages unity, diversity and developing leadership skills for Las Vegas youth, and will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 21st at Texas Station Gambling Hall & Hotel. The event includes Mayor's reading ecumenical prayers, an interfaith candle lighting ceremony and keynote speech by Pat Skorkowsky, Superintendent of Schools, Clark County School District.
Following the breakfast, students in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions of local mayors, Mr. Skorkowsky and more, in a town hall meeting format. Charity Poker Tournament for CODE 3 FOR A CURE (C3FAC)a national nonprofit 501(c)3 public charity, the event will be held at the Stratosphere Poker Room on October 24, 2013 at 5:00pm. Please visit the event website page. The main purpose of which is to provide financial assistance on a nationwide basis to firefighters who are diagnosed with cancer and facing a financial hardship. (While cancer can strike anyone, numerous studies have proven that firefighters are more likely to contract the disease than the general population due to the toxins to which they are exposed in the line of duty.
