This is the premier of a Christian film "Silent Witness."
SILENT WITNESS, is the new INSPIRATIONAL film that will TOUCH your HEART. This movie conveys how the decisions we make affects others, and how ultimately GOD is in CONTROL of everything. It features stunning performances, special effects, gripping imagery, and cinematic music. The most interesting feature of Silent Witness is that it is a throw back to the days of “silent” films, where music and imagery drive the plot, while there is little to no dialogue. Come and experience it with us on July 19 2014. Admission is completely free, but make sure you visit the web page, www.silentwitness2014.com, to RSVP. Seating is LIMITED.

Join us at the Old Las Vegas Fort, located at 500 E. Washington Ave, in Las Vegas. Shirley Nelson will be visiting us from Tuba City, Arizona, the heart of the Dine (Navajo) Nation. Shirley grew up the child of a single mother who supported her young family with simple bead work earrings and other jewelry. Thus, Shirley learned her craft at a very young age, and is now a gifted artist who is passing the tradition of fine bead work, and the craft of Heishi and Cedar Berry necklaces and bracelets, down to her own grandchildren. She will appear with her daughter-in-law, Charmayne Nelson, who specializes in beaded bracelets. Both ladies will demonstrate how they make the beaded jewelry and Shirley will demonstrate how dream catchers are made with a small loom and hide.
United Way of Southern Nevada is encouraging summer reading by hosting a “Flip Through Summer” Book Drive on May 16 through May 30. When school is out children can lose as much as three months of reading comprehension. Community members who participate in the “Flip Through Summer” Book Drive can help change that story.
Community members can drop off their new and gently used books (books geared towards birth through age 12 preferred) during the week of May 16 through 30 to United Way of Southern Nevada.
United Way also invites local organizations to hold their own “Flip Through Summer” Book Drives anytime during the month of May to contribute to this effort encouraging summer reading.
