JEREMY CAMP-I STILL BELIEVE
The beautiful botanical gardens of the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., Las Vegas, will be the backdrop for Solari Hospice Care’s Annual “Celebration of Life” ceremony to be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. This event honors the lives of Solari Hospice Care patients who have passed away from January 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.
The non-denominational memorial service will include comments from Solari Hospice Care administrators and staff, words of inspiration, a message of comfort and the reading of patients’ names. Special music will be provided by Las Vegas musician-vocalists Betsy Burnett, Chris Heers, Bill Tracy and Ginger Reed. Family members will also have the opportunity to come forward and say a few words if they wish. At the conclusion of the service, everyone is invited to enjoy coffee and refreshments.
“This is a special time for the patients’ loved ones to gather together with the Solari employees and volunteers who cared for them, and shed a few tears of both laughter and sadness as we reflect on the touching moments we shared,” says Chris Kopoew, bereavement counselor, Solari Hospice Care. “It’s important in the healing process for people to acknowledge their grief and work through it. This service offers an opportunity for closure and acceptance.”
“In hospice, we are always so busy caring for the patients and trying to stay strong that we sometimes hold back our emotions,” says Candis Armour, R.N., executive director, Solari Hospice Care. “Yet, day after day, we are saddened by the loss of wonderful people who are dear to us. On this day, we can embrace all of those feelings and openly grieve. At the same time, we can celebrate these precious lives and remember the joy they brought us.”
Special notices are being sent to each patient’s loved ones. However, all friends and relatives of patients are welcome and encouraged to attend the service. The event is open to the public. For more information, call (702) 870-0000.
