Mark 10:14 Drive Through BBQ

Event Date:
Saturday, March 1, 2014 - 1:00pm - 5:00pm

The Mark 10:14 Program provides students with special needs an opportunity to have a middle school and high school experience that include them in all the work, all the fun, and all the special moments that teenagers long to be a part of. It gives them every chance to reach their full God given potential and to be treated as valued members of our community.

Mark 10:14 touches the lives of Faith Lutheran's typical students as well, giving them day after day opportunities to step outside the bounds of self interest and to genuinely serve others, growing in compassion and depth of character.

Santa Maria Style BBQ is a tradition from the Central Coast region of California dating back to the early 1800's. After cattle roundups, vaqueros would host large cookouts for their friends, families and fellow ranchers. Meat was prepared with a seasoning rub and grilled slowly over red oak wood to seal in the flavors.

The Mark 10:14 Drive Thru BBQ menu follows this tradition faithfully. Our guest chefs drive from San Luis Obispo, California, pulling their huge grills behind them. They haul red oak wood and cars full of San Luis Sourdough bread. Whole tri-tips are seasoned perfectly and slowly cooked over the fire. The meat is served with freshly prepared salsa, ranch beans, a tossed green salad and grilled garlic bread - a truly delicious combination.

Both Regular Ticket Meals and Gold Ticket Meals are served "To Go" and are handed to you in your car as you drive through the west parking lot of Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School.
