This event “Out of Africa Fashion Show” is organized as a fundraiser for supporting orphan children and bringing to the forefront, how critical the fight is for those that suffer from malaria every year. For about half the world's population, malaria remains one of the greatest threats to public health. Sub-Saharan Africa is the epicenter of the world's malaria control activities where the ancient disease casts a shadow not only over health, but also on educational achievement, worker productivity, and economic development. About 85 percent of malaria cases around the world and 90 percent of deaths are estimated to be in Africa. Over 1.4 million people die from this deadly disease each year. The tragedy is that the vast majority of malaria deaths are preventable.
The Out of Africa Fashion Show will showcase the talent of amazing fashion from Ghana and Nigeria. Browse the African Market Place where you can purchase Authentic African Clothes, African Mask, Pure Shea Butter and much more.
The funds raised will be beneficial to purchasing medicated mosquito nets, bring education and awareness of malaria to communities in Diaspora. Providing inoculation along with training people to manage, deliver, and support the delivery of health services, which will be critical for sustained successes against infectious diseases and the study of eradication of malaria.
