PASSION-ONE THING REMAINS
We talked about the Secret Life of the Concierge. It was an article in Las Vegas Weekly talking about all the things that go into that line of work. We had a discussion about the secrets behind all of our jobs that most people don't realize! Click here for the audio!
As I watched the State of the Union this week, I just felt the tension behind how deeply our political parties are divided. It's a real challenge because Christians easily get sucked right into the politics. We all have social issues we’re passionate about. We have values, personal styles & ethnic backgrounds. We have work related fears that shape our views on education, government regulation, truth & money. As Christians, it's so easy to let these variables shape our world view even more deeply than our relationship with God.
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up in this new Mercy Me music video! Haha #MMshake
We're into the second half of January. How's your resolution working out? I've rebooted mine twice!
Chef Phillip Dell was on our show talking about how to know when our body is telling us we're not healthy as we could be...
Here's reviews on some of the films nominated for "Best Picture" by the Academy Awards. This is REALLY interesting! You can read more from Bob at Pluggedin.com on each of these films.
I'm a good person. Isn't that enough? Here's a discussion about where Jesus Christ comes in. I think this discussion will challenge you.
One of my Facebook friends asked an honest question that really challenged me: "Isn't God pleased if I am a good person? Why does Jesus have to be the standard?"
There's no judgement here. I thought it would make a great discussion because I think most of us have had to face this question at some point in our faith journey. Click here for a deep discussion! I welcome your feedback too! - Scott@SosRadio.net
This morning I was listening to the words in a lot of the songs we play on SOS Radio. I was hearing songs about faith, trust, love, grace and changed lives. There was just this theme of "change" in the air. I've been feeling it in my prayer life over the last few weeks, and I think change is inevitable when we are on a journey with Jesus. I'm excited to see how God challenges our country and our culture in 2014.
God is in the lifechange business. Jesus said, "If you really knew me, you would know my father as well, from now on you DO know him and have seen him. Anyone who has seen me has seen the father. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these."
There's a lot of Epic Bible movies releasing in 2014.
Noah - (Russel Crowe/Anthony Hopkins/Emma Watson) A 150 million dollar budget is going into this film!
The Exodus - (A movie about Moses) starring Christian Bale & Sigourney Weaver ( Ridley Scott is directing this)
God & Kings - (A movie about Moses) directed by Stephen Spielberg
Mary Mother of Christ - The movie facebook page bills the movie as "The True Prequel to the Passion of the Christ" It's from the writer of the Passion of the Christ. (Ben Kingley is in this one)
Son of God - (Mark Burnett) It's based on The Bible mini series and made into a movie. (The film will feature selections of the miniseries as well as deleted scenes not featured during the telecast.)
The tables have turned. We now live in a world where Christians (at least occasionally…be honest! ; ) look for reasons to avoid going to church. And where those who believe there is no God look for reasons to start churches.
Popping up in cites around the U.S. and U.K.: Atheist Churches. They’re structured perhaps a lot like your own church services. Singing. Teaching. Offerings.
