The Wave...

I made the trip to Oregon this past weekend to take my little sister to her first Ducks football game. We had a blast even though it was 46 and pouring. About half way through the 3rd quarter a young man decided he want to try and start the wave in the stadium.

One person out of 60,000… the odds aren’t in his favor. I watched him for about 45 minutes try to pump up the crowd, but each time the wave would die about two sections over. He was determined. After trying 25 times and failing each time… He tried again, with the same enthusiasm as the 1st try.

The Door is OPEN!

The Door is OPEN! | | SOS Radio

Was just talking to a friend about my being nervous for a new adventure we are both part of. This is the week where the money that's needed will hopefully be raised for it. It's the "hopefully" part that makes me nervous!

But they pointed out two things:

1. "Any great call of God has three stages:  impossible, difficult and done." That's a quote from Chris Tomlin. How often do so many of us want to skip that middle step? And, how many people in the Bible, when called by God, suddenly had cake walk lives? Almost none of them. Not Moses. Not Joseph. Not Paul. And certainly not Jesus.

November is National Adoption Month... This month I'd like to share several different camera angles on Adoption and Foster Care.  A good friend to our family is serving on the front lines when it comes to Foster Care and Adoption in Las Vegas. RoseAnna shared this blog post and I love how it ties all of us to adoption... because we have a personal relationship with God.

Mike Couchman SOS Radio Proof of God

How do you feel when you hear somebody, usually halfway around the world, has unearthed something that proves a Bible story is true? Those kinds of things used to be VERY exciting to me.

If that describes you too, you might like this nugget about science "proving" God is real.

"Don't wanna forget or take for granted... That it's a beautiful life we live"

The Afters – Every Good Thing

That’s the first lyric I heard after our newborn decided to pee on me while changing his diaper. I was SOOOOOOOO frustrated.  I was in the beginning stages of planning my pity party when I heard "Don't wanna forget or take for granted... That it's a beautiful life we live".

All of a sudden I went from frustration to being thankful.

Yes, I had just been peed on my a two week old little boy… But I was able to hold that little boy and love on him.

A Pastors Perspective on Celebrating Halloween | | SOS Radio

Halloween is right around the corner… I think I have gone through all the phases of Halloween in my Christian walk. I’ve ignored it, only participated in church events and have turned out the porch light early so I could still take some of the good candy for myself.

I am always game for a challenge… that’s where Pastor Jim Crews of Valley Bible Fellowship in Las Vegas comes in. Who knew that Halloween just might be the best day of the year to connect with our neighbors and show them love… ß Did I really just say that out loud? You’ll understand how I came to that conclusion after checking out what Pastor Jim had to say about Halloween…
