The holidays are right around the corner and do we have something to get you in the holiday spirit!
The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada is pleased to announce one of the largest holiday events to take place this season, The 25th Annual Festival of Trees and Lights a to be held at the Paris Las Vegas November 22 - November 24.
The FoTL is a community event, promoting awareness and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome, for the whole family to enjoy during the holiday season. With the help of local organizations, businesses, community groups and individual contributors, The DSOSN's Festival of Trees and Lights will be an event not to be missed.
This is a benefit concert to support the 300+ homeless children in Pahrump, the majority of which who are in Kindergarten. 100% of the proceeds from the raffles and games will go to support Pahrump's Food For Thought program, as well as the Nye County School District's Homeless and At Risk Child in Need Fund, both programs that work directly with the kids.
The games are classic fall-festival type games, to include a Smash Car and Home Depots Kids Workshop!
Admission is FREE!
There will also be a BBQ dinner provided at only $8.00 a plate!
Local bands playing are: PAR~A~DIGM (Pop/Rock), Stan Rankin T (Reggae), and No Fear In Love (Indie/Experimental). Also playing is the Vista California band In The Midst 777 (Metal)!
Come join Calvary Chapel Green Valley for our 10th annual Harvest Festival. This event serves as a safe, family friendly alternative to trick or treating for our entire community. Best of all, this event is free! Free admission, free carnival rides, free games, free petting zoo, free pony rides, free bounce houses and free candy!

Letting His Light Shine, Highland Hills Baptist Church will host a FREE Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Families can enjoy trunk or treat, bounce houses for the children, cake walk, hayrides, food, and more. This year all seats will be reserved and there will be three ways concertgoers can obtain their tickets. The traditional $10 at the door (picked up at venue box office), in advance for $10 at the venue box office during regular hours, or $20 online or by phone.
Charity Poker Tournament for CODE 3 FOR A CURE (C3FAC)a national nonprofit 501(c)3 public charity, the event will be held at the Stratosphere Poker Room on October 24, 2013 at 5:00pm. (While cancer can strike anyone, numerous studies have proven that firefighters are more likely to contract the disease than the general population due to the toxins to which they are exposed in the line of duty.
