The Real Story of St Nicholas | | SOS Radio

st nick

The true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas on Myra. He was born in a village on the south coast of Turkey in the 3rd century. He came from a really wealthy Christian family, but he lsot both parents when he was young.

St Nicholas took Jesus words to heart where He said "sell what you own and give to the poor." St Nick basically gave away his whole inheritance to the people he met with hurts, habits and hangups. He became famous for his generosity and gift giving in the name of Jesus.

Nicholas was named Bishop of Myra when he was a young man nad lived through a treacherous time of persecution in the early church. Nicholas was even part of the Council of Nicaea where the Bible was canonized.

In Romans, Paul said: "If you confess with your mouth, Jesus as Lord and belive in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

If you've felt a disconnect from God, you can start a relationship with Him simply by praying and asking Him to come into your heart!

Bless The Dress

Event Date:
12/11/2016 - 11:00am

Ladies, rather than doing the played out “trash the dress” concept, you might consider donating your used wedding dress to this wonderful cause. Or, perhaps you’ve simply run out of room to store a wedding dress you don’t want, or simply want to forget about.

Sherri Howe and her friends run a local not for profit organization that re-purposes wedding gowns into infant burial gowns, aka “Angel Gowns,” for Montana hospitals and birthing centers at no cost. The creators of ‘Emma & Evan Gowns‘ invite you to their “Bless The Dress” event on Sunday, December 11th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Source gym at 255 South Russell.
