Ms. Goslee is a special ed teacher in Adelanto, California. West Creek Elementary School in close to three different prisons, so there are a lot of students dealing with homlessness and foster care. It's a very transient area.

Awana Club

Calling all kids ages 3 years through 12th grade interested in joining Cubbies, Sparks, T&T, Trek, or Journey this year. We are gearing up! Awana is held every Wednesday night from 6:15pm-8:00p.m., beginning September 6, 2017 and ending April 25, 2018. Registration costs $30 (plus handbook and uniform) for the entire year. Returning clubbers, or siblings of returning clubbers, do not need to pre-register; a pre-filled registration form will be available at club. New clubbers may download and print a registration form from the MVBC website (mvbible.org), stop by the office, or call 208-733-5248 to get more information. We’d love to have you!

Just in time for the new school year, Lerner and Rowe Gives Back will be handing out stuffed backpacks on August 12th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 52 E. Baseline, Phoenix 85042.

The free giveaway is limited to the first 600 people to show, so those interested in picking up a backpack are encouraged to arrive early before they are gone.

Each backpack includes:

  • Folders
  • Pencils
  • Water bottle

Barbecue team registration is open and tickets are now on sale for the third-annual Pigs for the Kids, which takes place at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Saturday, Sept. 23, from noon to 9 p.m. This year’s event will be bigger and more mouthwatering than ever. Featuring a spirited barbecue competition, live bands, ice cold beer, wine, and more—the family-friendly event tastes good and does good by supporting childhood cancer charities. This year’s Pigs for the Kids Barbecue Cook-Off and Festival will benefit Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
