JD Smith worked as an intern at rock radio station in Oregon while he was in high school. As a kid, he dreamed of playing defensive line for the Seattle Seahawks or working in radio. (During football season, he does keep the dream alive by constantly yelling at the TV.)
After living the party lifestyle while working in mainstream rock radio, JD felt an emptiness. He asked God to change his life and Christian music played a big part in that journey. JD saw firsthand how God used Christian songs to connect with him, and he wanted to share that experience with others.
JD has an intense fear of public speaking. He doesn’t eat condiments, but he does consider BBQ sauce a basic food group. Watch out Duggar Family, with five kids, two basset hounds and two cats, JD and Vanessa should have their own football team/zoo/reality TV show in the not too distant future. Obviously, JD and Vanessa have very little free time, but they are passionate about adoption.
