Amazing Opportunity With Sri Lanka & Our Mission Trip Team

Last Summer we took 40 listeners on a mission trip to Kalapuwa Sri & Samudra Sri in Sri Lanka. It's an amazing children's home & leadership academy. They care for about 200 orphans.

Child Empowerment International (CEI) runs Kalapuwa Sri & Samudra Sri. The organization has been selected by the GlobalGiving Foundation to participate in its Open Challenge, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations working around the world. In order to succeed in GlobalGiving’s Open Challenge, CEI must raise $4,000 from 50 different donors by April 30th, 2012. If they meet this threshold, they will be given a permanent spot on GlobalGiving’s website. Please help them reach the threshold of $4,000 from 50 donors! With the matching funds, this comes out to only $40 per donor! If 100 people donate, the amount per donor is only $20! Be one of the first people to make a donation and help empower children’s futures through this vital vocational project.

Child Empowerment International currently provides for the complete care for nearly 200 single and double orphans in Sri Lanka at our two Leadership Academy facilities. While we provide for their traditional schooling, there is also a need to provide vocational training that will empower our students transition into the "real" world. Providing our students with the opportunity to learn fish husbandry skills and aquaculture techniques will enable them to enter the community as employable adults.

You can read more about Kalapuwa Sri Children's Home or give to support the kids. Please Help! I've seen this program first hand and met the leadership and the kids. It's making a HUGE impact in Sri Lanka.

Also, you can text GIVE 10260 to 80088 to donate $10 to Empower Sri Lankan Youth at the Kalapuwa Sri Children's Home and help with thier vocational Fish Farm. Message and data rates may apply. Only works for US mobile phones.
