Nate Chio is a Lieutenant with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He shares about innovative ways his department is connecting with the community to reduce violence and help get kids off the street. If you're interested in getting plugged in, LVMPD is always looking for volunteers and mentors!

Police Athletic League (PAL) is looking for mentors & coaches to help connect students throughout the Las Vegas Valley! You can call 702-572-5938 to sign a student up for the PAL sports program. Please call 702-828-6521 if you're interested in volunteering. (Must pass a background check and interview to coach)

OCE: 702-828-3309. The RECAP program (Rebuilding Every City Around Peace) is looking for faith based RECAP volunteers to help reduce retaliation/violence/calm the community after gang violence erupts in our city.
· RECAP-Faith based volunteers must pass a background check. LVMPD will train you.

HISPANIC Citizens Police Academy. The current academy is full, but the next academy starts in the fall, call 702-828-3309 to get more information.

Gang Intervention
· Know of a troubled youth? Police officers & mentors can help with intervention. Call 702-828-3309.
· Goal is to keep them out of the gang system.
