Quilt Festival

The Utah Quilt Guild is hosting their Annual Quilt Festival in St. George, UT on September 18 through the 22. The event will be held at the Dixie Convention Center.

International Quilt teachers, Karen Combs, Flavin Glover, Ann Fahl and Claudia Clark Myers will conduct both lectures and hands on sessions for participants through out each day. On Wednesday Karen Combs will be teaching Transparancy, Ann Fahl will teach A new Look At Applique. Flavin Glover will teach Log Cabin Houses and Claudia Clark Myers will teach Cassblanca. Thursday September 20, Ann will be Mastering Metallic's, while Flavin will be conducting Log Cabin Landscapes. Karen will be teaching Celtic Illusions and Claudia will showing a New View. On Friday Ann will be Dancing On Your Quilts, while Flavin will be demonstrating Log Cabin Court House Steps and Integrating Patchwork Designs. Karen wll be doing Patchwork Illusions. On Saturday Flavin will have Colorful and Creative Log Cabins and Karen will display the techniques of Crystal Star. Local quilt teachers will also be teaching students new and exciting quilting techniques. The public can view all of the quilt classes available at www:// Half day and evening classes start $15.00. There will be a judged Quilt Show, entrance into the quilt show is $2.00. There are also lecture luncheons, a merchants mall, demonstrations, make and take mini classes, all where the public is invited to attend over the four day event. There will be opportunities to win several different quilts and hand made items. There will be a special booth which will display quilt blocks for Breast Cancer Awareness. Proceeds from these projects are donated to Breast Cancer research. Daily quilting classes start at 8:30 a.m. and run until 10:00 p.m. The merchants mall and the quilt show hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
