<p>In Psalm 23 he wrote, <strong>&quot;The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name&rsquo;s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.&quot;</strong></p>

<p>Our shepherd knows the green pastures and quiet waters that will restore our souls, we just have to trust Him. We have to put our eyes back on Him instead of our turbulent circumstances!</p>]]></content:encoded>

We&#39;re all passionate about Jesus, but many of us live in&nbsp;different cities. It&#39;s fun when we can come together like we did recently for the Freedom Festival in Victorville or at the Western Montana Fair or a concert in Salt Lake City!</p>

<p>A group of pastors from the High Desert invited our entire SOS community to come back in&nbsp;July next Summer to help love on Victorville, Apple Valley, Adelanto and Hesperia.</p>

<p>Pastor Paul Earl from Life Church shared about a dream he had in 2010 for&nbsp;believers and followers of Jesus to engage in community wide intercession, evangelism and impact for one concentrated week all over the Victor Valley. He dreamed about thousands of Christians everywhere in the city aflame with passion, touching lives, and then gathering together in one place under the open sky praising God. He explained, &quot;I&nbsp;woke up with the thought &ldquo;What if God would kiss the earth again and a revival of Christian passion would explode beyond human organization or religious control, but spontaneously erupt by the power of God&rsquo;s spirit?&rdquo;</p>

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you&hellip;humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.&rdquo;</h3>

<h3>James digs into five different ways to grow your relationship with Jesus. It&#39;s all about understanding what it means to submit to&nbsp;God.</h3>

<h3>(1)Yield to His authority and will, commit your life to Him and make it a priority to follow Him.</h3>

<h3>(2) Resist the devil. Don&rsquo;t allow Satan to entice you and tempt you.</h3>

<h3>(3) Wash you hands and purify your hearts to lead lead a pure life. Be cleansed from sin,&nbsp;replacing your desire to sin with your desire to experience God&rsquo;s purity.</h3>

<h3>(4) Grieve,&nbsp;mourn and wail in sincere sorrow for you sins. Don&rsquo;t be afraid to express deep heartfelt&nbsp;sorrow for what you have done.</h3>

<h3>(5) Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift&nbsp;you up. (Push pride aside and give your focus over to Jesus)</h3>

No doubt, this week, we&rsquo;ll be doing the same, but recently I was thinking, &ldquo;why is a spirit of thankfulness only limited to one day a year?&rdquo;</span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&quot;Century&quot;,serif">Over the years, I&rsquo;ve heard friends say things like, &ldquo;I just want to know God&rsquo;s will for my life,&rdquo; or &ldquo;If only I knew what God wanted from me&hellip;&rdquo; In Paul&rsquo;s letter to the church in Thessalonica, he wrote, &ldquo;give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God&rsquo;s will for you in Christ Jesus.&rdquo; Being thankful <i>is</i> God&rsquo;s will for you! </span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&quot;Century&quot;,serif">Notice how it says IN all circumstances. It doesn&rsquo;t say FOR all circumstances. When evil is carried out in our world, we shouldn&rsquo;t be thankful for that because evil does not come from God. However, in the midst of these seasons of life, we should thank God in the midst of them because of the fact that He is supreme, He is Lord of all and we have the ultimate victory because we serve the victor! </span></span></p>

<p>When fire&nbsp;is at your backdoor, most people would run for their lives, but not Marco Gonzalez!</p>

<p>Marco owns the Tavern 101 Grill in Agoura Hills, near L.A. When the Woolsey&nbsp;Fire was approaching his business, Marco along with a handful of his staff stayed behind and cooked meals for hundreds of firefighters and first responders.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Marco said, &ldquo;I told my people, I wanted to open just to be here for police, firefighters and first responders. We weren&#39;t able to get any deliveries into the restaurant, so I&#39;ll go out and buy whatever I can.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Since word has grown, Marco&rsquo;s loyal customers have begun coming in and volunteering to help cook. Marco&rsquo;s sister-in-law even started a fundraising page that raised over $45 grand in just three days.</p>

Satan&rsquo;s players have not been able to drown out salvation&rsquo;s song. The songs of hope by the company of the redeemed will never end. They grow in volume, celebration, and glory. The Cross is the subject of those songs, and it&rsquo;s life-giving mercy is the chorus.&rdquo; -Paul David Tripp</p>

<p>The point is not to pretend to be happy when we face pain, but to have a positive outlook on life, because of what trials CAN&nbsp;produce in our lives. James tells us to look deeper into our hardship, as an opportunity for learning. Tough times can teach us perseverance. -Ceci@SosRadio.net</p>

<p>The Vegas Golden Knights are hiring skaters for the Knights Crew at the home games at T Mobile Arena! (These are the people who skate out on the ice in between plays to clean up the ice or skate with big signs when they have a promotion going on.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Golden Knights are accepting applications through&nbsp;noon&nbsp;on&nbsp;July 4th. They are hiring for the Knights Crew. It&rsquo;s a part time position and you&rsquo;d be responsible for helping to create the game night atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena. If you are chosen to audition, you will be notified by&nbsp;Wednesday, July 11&nbsp;and the auditions themselves will be&nbsp;Monday, July 23.&nbsp;&nbsp;The available positions for the Knights Crew are for people with prior skating experience. If you do not have this, you can audition for roles with the Golden Aces - WNBA team.</p>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I wish I had compiled a montage video of my 6 year old son this past Christmas morning. &nbsp;His response to every single gift was pure joy and excitement. His joy was so contagious. After Christmas morning we hopped over to another family party and more gifts were exchanged, more sugary treats were consumed and by the end of the evening the boy was worn out! &nbsp;I told him, sigh, that it was time for bed and he began to weep. He knew that the day he&rsquo;d dreamed about for so many weeks was coming to a close and as I was comforting him he cried, &ldquo;just one more Mom, just one more present. &nbsp;Can there be just one more present&nbsp;tomorrow? &nbsp;I just want ONE MORE THING TO UNWRAP!&rdquo; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Aren&rsquo;t we like that with Jesus? &nbsp;We might initially be excited about this good gift or that one, but then we somehow convince ourselves that one more really will do the trick this time.</p>

<p>One more gift God, and I will finally be content. &nbsp;One more gift, Lord, and then I will follow you wholeheartedly. &nbsp;One more gift and&hellip;and&hellip;and&hellip;</p>

<p>In 2018, I am going to focus on being content. &nbsp;God has given so many good gifts, but some days I don&rsquo;t even appreciate them because I too, just like my 6 year old son would like just one more thing to unwrap. &nbsp;Paul gives great encouragement in Philippians&nbsp;4:11&nbsp;(and he seems to have actually figured out this big secret) &nbsp;I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. &nbsp;I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. &nbsp;I can do all this through him who gives me strength.</p>

<p>Let&rsquo;s ask God for his strength to be content and for grateful hearts for his rich blessings this year!</p>

If this year has felt like a series of attacks instead of a series of growth, rest in the fact that God works in spite of your circumstances and shortfalls.</p>
