God Is Still Good And You Can Experience Him Through Tragedy!

I believe when you go through tragedy you have two choices. You run away from God or your run toward him harder then ever.

I read a story about Ryan Seals losing his wife Kimi to breast cancer.

Roughly five years ago, they lost one of their sons as a newborn. Ryan told the story to FaithWire about how Kimi went through the grieving process asking - "Why God?"

"Why would we have to go through something like this?’ When these kind of things happened in our marriage they actually brought us closer together and our faith in God has been stronger.” Ryan & Kimi channeled their sadness, anxiety and worry into prayer looking to God's plan. That build a supernatural trut for them as a couple an they were able to rest in the author and creator of life.  Ryan talked about how "In this darkest season of their lives, when hope seemed increasingly distant, he and Kimi turned to Scripture. Specifically, Romans 15 became a reset point in their grief. It's where the apostle Paul wrote, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Ryan told Faithwire, “The way that our friends and family have seen Kimi conduct her life in the midst of everything going on — like at her celebration of life, we had people tell us they hate going to funerals but that was the first funeral they’ve ever been to where they’ve actually felt hope. They felt like, ‘Wow, God is still good, even in the midst of what’s going on.’”

Our circumstances don't taint God's goodness. Never forget that!

Shift your focus from WHY WHY WHY over to TRUST TRUST TRUST. When you choose to trust you realize the burden isn't on you anymore. You've given it over to God.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
