Barrett is a manager at the Transportation Security Administration and upon meeting him recently, I could tell he was so thankful for the SOS Radio team being there and having the opportunity to meet us and serve with us.
His story of God reaching into his life is echoed throughout the entire SOS community, but that doesn't make it any less special. Nine years ago, Barrett was driving when he just happened to stumble upon SOS and MercyMe's “You Are I Am” was playing. In that moment he was hooked. He entered into his own personal 30-Day Challenge and that has turned into a 9-year challenge. Nothing brings a bigger smile to my face than being able to see the impact the music on SOS is making in our community through the power of Christ. That is a perfect Right Song, Right Time Moment.
Las Vegas is known worldwide for a lot of things and ever since the October 1 tragedy a year and a half ago, one of these things our city is being known for is love and care for our community. This has been played out the last several weeks as the TSA workforce has gone without pay.
Recently, the SOS Radio team were able serve the TSA workforce by feeding them. Magnolia from Truffles n’ Bacon Café in Henderson were able to donate 300 breakfast sandwiches to the TSA at McCarran International Airport to show some love to the morning crew and my producer Chris caught up with her. Magnolia told Chris that one of her assistant chefs at the restaurant donated her time to be able to prepare the sandwiches being transported to the airport. She came into work at 4 a.m. to be able to do this.
Magnolia said that seeing the joy expressed on the TSA officers' faces made it all worth it.
