The following organizations are always the first to hit the ground when disaster strikes, anywhere in the world. They are Christian organizations that not only meet physical needs, but spiritual needs as well.
Convoy will enter into any disaster zone and start distributing food, water, and other relief supplies to assist people in need. As a humanitarian, faith-based organization, Convoy of Hope’s goal is to serve people who are impoverished, hungry, and hurting.
As our teams work in crisis areas of the world, people often ask, “Why did you come?” The answer is always the same: “We have come to help you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our ministry is all about Jesus—first, last, and always. As the Apostle Paul said, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5, NIV).
While each disaster creates its own unique circumstances and special needs, Salvation Army disaster relief efforts focus on seven core services: Training, Food Service, Emotional and Spiritual Care, Emergency Communications, Disaster Social Services, Donations Management, and Recovery.
