What if our SOS community could FULLY fund projects for our hard-working educators around the SOS listening area? Here are a couple of projects that teachers have posted on donorchoose.org. You can find many more projects in cities around the country.
Las Vegas

Project Title: Cardinals Create Their Ideas in 3D
Project will reach 800 students
$992 goal - $344 still needed.
Richard J Rundle Elementary School is located in a low-income/poverty area of Las Vegas. Most teachers are volunteers. Many students at this school live in multi-family apartments. All students at this school qualify for free lunch. Many students at this school receive clothing assistance. Many students have Three Square Meals sent home on the weekend.
Students will create 3D models in science, math, art, and social studies.

Henderson
Mrs. Espinoza
Project Title: Growing What We Eat!
Project will reach 26 students
$481 goal - $431 still needed.
Students at Chester T Sewell Elementary School qualify for 100% free and reduced lunch. The school is in a low-income area.
Students will plant seedlings, watch and journal their growth and even take some of the food home to share with family.

Project Title: Not So Simple...Machines!
Project will reach 21 students
$593 goal
Students at Hollyvale Elementary School come from very low income households.
Project includes helping to be able to provide students engineering experience through building LEGO Simple Machines while practicing Applied Science, collaborating with peers and developing spacial critical thinking.

Twin Falls

Project Title: Help a FIRST Year Teacher be AWESOME!
Project will reach 25 students
$593 goal - $350 still needed
More than three-quarters of students at Lincoln Elementary School come from low-income areas in the Twin Falls area.
Ms. Emmons is a first year teacher and needs a little helping hand to provide her students with read aloud books, a place to store them and essentials to excel this coming school year.
